WovenDrops is an installation in which droplets flow through a three-dimensionally woven tube object. Ring-shaped components and ball-jointed 3D-printed modules are used as warp elements, while tubes are threaded through them as weft to construct a deformable three-dimensional form. Some of the warp modules incorporate conductive materials, enabling the sensing of joint bending. In response to viewers’ manipulation and deformation of the object, droplets begin to flow through the structure. As the droplets move, sometimes blending with one another, the overall coloration of the object dynamically transforms.
