Drifting Traces

Drifting Traces captures and recontextualizes hidden meanings within traces by analyzing data from an airflow-responsive installation using LLM. Inspired by mobiles and windchimes, the work embodies traces by miniaturizing a windy landscape. The LLM contextualizes interactions beyond sensor data alone can reveal, while the artist's Sci-Fi novel provides insight through the lens of communication. The material movements and derived linguistic contextualizations function as an indicator of something absent, helping audiences to understand the essence of environmental change through tracking traces.
