CryoScapes emerged from an Arctic Circle Residency in Svalbard and reflects water's shifting states—vapor, snow, waves, glaciers, sea ice—each expressing morphologies that bind us through circulation. The project materialized as a 3D ice printer that captures formation while embracing melting as its aesthetic. It generates forms across scales, from landscapes to crystals, while a camera observes their transformation. An AI system interprets these images as Haiku-inspired poems. AI acts as a teacher, reframing environmental processes through a tabletop ice printer. CryoScapes becomes site-specific: humidity, temperature, air, and mineral content co-author iteration. Each poem carries ecological cost. CryoScapes is a self-destroying machine.
