Sensus Pond

Sensus Pondは、水と植物が従来の受動的な役割を超え、環境のダイナミクスを積極的に感知する屋内生態系です。 水を通じた掃引周波数容量式センサー（SFCS）と機械学習を統合し、植物の生体電気信号を検出することで、この池は周囲の微妙な変化、 訪問者の存在、風による波動などを観察し、分析、記録します。これらのダイナミクスはリアルタイムで視覚化され、鑑賞者に自己と他の存在、 そして環境の相互関係に関わる体験を促します。この没入型体験は、多種多様な共生の微妙なバランスやより広範な非人間的世界に対する深い理解を育むことを目的としています。

Sensus Pond is an indoor ecosystem where water and plants transcend their traditional roles as passive elements to become active sensors of environmental dynamics. By integrating water-based Swept Frequency Capacitive Sensing (SFCS) and machine learning for plant bioelectrical signal detection, the pond monitors, analyzes, and records subtle changes in the surrounding environment, including the presence of visitors and fluctuations caused by the wind. These dynamics are transformed into a live visualization, inviting viewers to engage with the interconnectedness of themselves, other entities, and the environment. This immersive experience fosters a deeper appreciation for the delicate balance of multispecies cohabitation and the broader more-than-human world.
